Its one of Google's newest algorithm. It affects sites that have poorly written contents, that don't update regularly, poor usability and non informational contents.

 

I know it's crushed content sites that take advantage of writers (such as AC, eHow and others); So, it can't be all that bad.

Good websites with good content, that get social traffic/likes/love from users get in front of crappy/duplicate content websites. Maybe not everything in the first and second Panda, but Google is on the right path.

So we must all be careful with our content now. Make sure that we only use unique content. If we have to submit to article directories for link building purposes, submit unique content or rewrite your articles so they appear unique.
