i'm trying to learn photoshop i purchased this for just under £1000, i'm looking if there is any good photoshop books worth reading out there any know good ones?
I would read the official Adobe Photoshop book first then browse around the web, there are a bunch of tutorial sites that can help you learn just about anything. Hope that helps!
hmm, lookout for basic tools first, like pen tool lasso and similar stuff, http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/ph..._Basics_Tutorials_for_Photoshop_Beginners.htm then see tuts for art which you are interested, i think main part is to try something i did it like that no books but still am not a pro
thanks everyone! i really want to learn photoshop but theres thousands of tutorials but i learn mostly from a like reading out! i take it alot faster then , actually attempting tutorials
grab a copy of the book "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kely, good for beginners to intermediate users. visit the site www.watchandlearnphotoshop.com ...lots of video tutorials a few of photoshop books that might help... photoshop Layers Book photoshop Chanels Book photoshop Workflow setup worth 1000 photoshop tricks there are tons of photoshop books you can find on the net. surf...surf...surf!
i tought my self to use photoshop and i did ok i think your approach is better though theres still alot of tools i dont know how to use and im sure there are much easyer ways of doing things that i dont know about yet but just start with basics from adobe and then google tutorials online fore what your interested in good luck :]
My advice. Purchase or borrow good video tutorial. Book is the hardest way. When You watch video you can push "pause" and do the same thing by yourself in program with a few seconds. Good luck.
alright, I've been using Photoshop for 10 years now. I learned through online tutorials because I'm a visual and kinesthetic learner. Software moves too fast for books, and by the time you spend money on purchasing a book, it's likely outdated (plus they cost a lot). There are PLENTY of great video resources online, and I'll save you having to sift through the whole thread to find them. *THE* single best online resources out there are PSDtuts: http://psd.tutsplus.com/ A great website, free tutorials and advanced membership for more advanced tutorials. there are tons of great sites out there, but I wish I had a site of this quality when I was starting out a decade ago. Lynda.com http://www.lynda.com/ Lynda is literally THE best subscription-based tutorial site around. You cean learn far more than just flash, and if you pay for a subscription, you can download and save the videos. This is actually more useful than college training I've found for most things, and I took graphic design in college and had software training. If you're semi-serious about this, you can learn all you need to online from a number of great sites listed here, but if you're super-serious and you want to spend money, I wouldn't spend money on ANYTHING other than PSDtuts or Lynda. Good luck to you, I have been doing this for a decade and I find it very rewarding work to do. I hope you find it as rewarding as I do!
