These are just mock ups of an idea I had to highlight items on my site: No color, just a quick drawing of the general idea. As a customer to the site, would either entice you to click further more than just a plain old layout? Drawings are a little rough too and could change, but I'd love opinions on the general concept of it...
Usually i like the colorful site ^ ^, my opinion's should put more color its help your site better take a look.
On the first one, the sale2006 in red grabbed my eye instantly. On the second one, nothing stood out to be honest. So yeah, if you use colour on that 'new' frame, it should really grab their attention and it does look really nice and original IMO.
Looks very nice... I'd add a dash of colour - even if you just overlay some colour into the corners randomly or lightly Otherwise - i think it looks really good ... I did this one really quickly... I've had some success with colouring images like this...
Its just a concept piece to see if I like it or not. Color and a real drawing would come later (that's a rough sketch from my artist). Just trying to get feedback right now if its gaudy, helpful, or makes a given product standout. I think its pretty awesome myself, but I'm usually a bad judge as to what customers like
I think it looks good! Although i would worry about some of the images sizes, thats all. BTW, I think I've heard that Pennsylvania has a lady who owns the largest garden gnome collection in the world
A customer of mine had 15 of them in their yard. I think that's the most a customer told me about. That customer ordered 2, which made 17 in total. I'll have to see if that's in PA or not
Looks great. I recommend using it with square or rectangular photos rather than images with the background masked. In the first image, it looks like a photo frame. Very nice. In the second image, it looks like a gallows awaiting a noose. It will rock with color.
I thought vicious was the only one who read my blog LOL I'll take a look at em. If I weren't neck deep in christmas returns, I'd post up some more good emails and calls I've gotten this past week
the only "true" garden gnomes have pointy hats...not ones that are flopped over...just in case all of you wanted to know Your life is now complete.
OMG< Lorien, you are truly talented. Very nice. I like the second shot the best. Either one is great though!
From a usability basis I would go with the 2nd one. The content of the first one seems too cluttered. Even though the first one may be the more attractive - I believe the second will generate the most sales simply because the layout is more direct and easier to navigate.
I have a colorized version now. And a slight modification to how it'd be laid out. Here is what my initial version is: Other ideas are to stretch the frame around the image and the text and put a featured item banner there written on a nice scroll or something. Then feature the other items underneath. That is probably easier to code up. I think the colors for this are too bright and may outshine the item itself. Whatcha all think?
