Anyone have adsense on blogger.com ?

I am going to try to start doing some blogging. I read today that you can have adsense on your blog through blogger.com. I already had an adsense account so I logged in through blogger.com to set this up.

I got an e-mail from google a short while later saying that blogger had requested access to my account and did I want to approve or deny them.

As I am new to blogging I wanted to ask if this is common ? Should I be leery of blogger having access to my account ?

    No, not really.
Just add your adsense and be happy.

Just edit the template and replace the "ca-pub-###########" with your google pub#

It will take a little while to refresh

I opened a blogger account about a month ago, I don't remember it asking me anything about approval or such... maybe you mistakenly created a new AS account? I know blogger has AS account creation as a "feature".

I thought that in order to have an adsense account you required a top level domain?

That sounds like a wierd question. I have a blogger account and when I added in my adsense, Google never asked me about blogger accessing. It could be a spam or an attempt to hi jack your account. An easy way is to go through adsense support and send them a paste of the email you received and get a direct answer.

Here is (most likely) what she is referring to:

I got this after setting up my new blog the other day and when it asked for my google adsense email address, I just used one of my yahoo's and proceeded to change the pub# from within the template code.

    Hello,

Welcome to Google AdSense. Submit your information for review by
    filling
    out the form located at:

    https://www.google.com/adsense/c?u=numbers&k=0xnumbers

This link will take you directly to an application form and email
    confirmation
page. If it does not, please copy and paste the full URL into your web
    browser's
address box and hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard. Once you confirm
your email and provide a password and mailing address for your AdSense
    account,
we'll review your application and email you after we check your site
    for AdSense
eligibility. If you're accepted, you'll then be
able to log in to your account at https://www.google.com/adsense/,
or through the application or service from which you originally
    registered.

Until your site has been reviewed and approved, you will see public
    service ads
(for which you will not receive earnings) displayed on your site. Once
    your
application is approved, Google ads will begin appearing automatically.

    Sincerely,
    The Google AdSense Team

Incorrect any site may register for adsense as long as it has content or follows with the Adsense TOS which is an easy read.
It can even be a sub-domain.
So basicly "any" website can register.

Below is the e-mail that I received. (I put the x's in there for obvious purposes). It does appear as if it did come from google.

When I signed up at blogger.com, it said I could earn with my blog. I was given the option to sign up for a new adsense account or select that I already had one. I had one so I indicated that. It was shortly after that when this e-mail arrived to me.

    Hello,

You've received this email because the website

    blogger.com,

most likely the site through which you signed up for AdSense, has requested
    access to your AdSense account.

If you choose to give them access, they'll be able to view your name, country
and email address, access your reports, and manage your account on your behalf.
They won't, however, have access to any of your personal payment information or
    payment history.

To approve or deny the website access to your account, please visit

    https://www.google.com/adsense/xxxxxxx

If you have any questions, we suggest you contact the website

    blogger.com

    directly.

    Sincerely,
    The Google AdSense Team

I am checking it out with google right now. We will see what they have to say and see if the e-mail really came from them.

Did you click a link on blogger to set up an adsense account? I've seen that, and if you filled it out perhaps google is just authorizing it (even tho blogger is part of google)..

but why not just put your adsense code in the template?
