Anyone has any suggestion for a good domain registar

I have currently has couple hundreds domains with godaddy, my experience is that they are the bad and tricky domain registrar online. for example, they offered me free privacy at the beginning, which is free with places like 1and1. they make it very difficult to renew without privacy, with is 8.99 each.

I also have some that I do not intend to renew and left not to renew when i renewed others, then it took my credit card info and renew them + 8.99 each.

    where do the pros go?

    thank you,

You need to uncheck the "auto-renew" box when registering a domain. But I agree that Godaddy is tricky, as there are so many offers to buy more things when ordering just a domain.

You might like to check out Namecheap. And I also use Dynadot.

Have a look at the domainsite.com, i use them and have had no problem so far, they are pretty cheap as well. $6.99 for new registrations and $0.50 for privascy feature.

Name.com has new names or transfers for $5.99 or if you want the most secure & trusted in the domaining industry, Moniker.com is for you, but more expensive.

Go Daddy is the cream of the crop. Their user interface is like butta.

    Namecheap is quite good
but for serious domainers Moniker offers lot of services.
Dynadot is another one to consider.

god i feel sorry for you if you think godaddy is the best around :(

    http://www.ohashi.info/registrars/retail?sort=desc&order=Masked+Whois

If privacy cost is your concern that lists a large chunk of major registrars with privacy cost, $0 being free, blank being they don't offer it and a price being price per domain. Hope that helps in your search.

I would recommend namecheap.com, name.com, and moniker.com. Haven't had any problems with those.

If you want cheap and acceptable service, go with Name.com, $5.99 with free privacy.
If you want best service, go with Moniker.com

I used both GoDaddy and Ipower in the past. Ipower sucks if you ever plan to sell a domain because you can not do it Online, you have to have forms signed and all kinds of garbage. GoDaddy was OK but I had problems with changing things such as dropping the privacy after the first year. I have all of my domains at Namecheap and have had them there for two years now. The service is great and it is so easy to change things. They offer free whois privacy and the when you change anything, it updates quickly. As with GoDaddy, they offer free transfer when you sell a domain to a new owner.

Most of the time you can find a current coupon and .coms run around $7.99-$8.41 with coupons. I do not see me ever changing again.
