I've never heard of anyone getting rejected as long as you pony up the $300. The whole editing thing is just a ploy to make what they do seem legit.
Yahoo does even accept adult and gambling site, with much more fees of course. I never heard of Yahoo directory site submission rejected either. The only reason Yahoo could reject one site is because the site is really garbage such as 1. MFA site - No real contents and made for adsense only. 2. Scraped site such as autoblogs. Site which using other peoples content only, using some scraping software.
got rejected? Actually, they will send you an email regarding this issue. They will state the possibilities why your site was rejected.
1) I have been rejected in past 2) I've known many individuals that have been rejected and yahoo STOLE $300 from them (no refund!) after rejection
All Yahoo wants to do is get more money for its directory server,a s if people are overloading it everyday. There is not much benefit in submitting to Yahoo for $300 and they rarely accept sites free of cost.
I registered for the free yahoo local listing and my site original was not approved the I resubmitted it and the information is still there and comes up but it shows in pending status in my account. Not sure why
300 dollars is a lot of dough to cough up for a listing even in Yahoo. You would think you would get something back if it did not pass and get in.
Adding links to the Yahoo directory needs to be done with attention. It is highly recommended building a quality website with useful information and then observe how the other sites are functioning. No wonder some webmasters contact the SEO firms for doing so.
I wonder if anyone who has been added to the Directory in the last 3 years has actually benefited from it. (I guess if they have no SEO ability and the site isn't in Yahoo's organic results...)
Put your efforts elsewhere, don't worry about yahoo directory or dmoz. Get good links from related sites with PR2 or better and work the organic listings.
I don't see why you would get rejected. I've posted lots of my sites on Yahoo! Directory and haven't been rejected once. Does your domain or description contain cuss words?
I have not heard that anyone has been rejected. but I've never even managed to type a my site in yahoo dir. for free
I agree with all members. As we know yahoo directory is the big and famous directory site so Yahoo can not do mistake.
