i'm relatively new to the SEO business. My site (in signature) has been up for about 6-7 months. I have been aggressively doing some link exchanges during this time. Traffic is very slowly increasing but I don't think my keywords are the greatest. Can anyone give me advice or come up with some keywords relating to bluetooth technology that i should go after?

    I would appreciate any help.

I would recommend to just concentrate on the term "bluetooth" by itself, related terms like maybe "bluetooth devices" etc will follow by themselves.

Also, try to reprogram the site to include the title of the page in the URL. For instance this pages URL --
    http://www.bluetomorrow.com/content/section/12/39/
could possibly be modified to be
    http://www.bluetomorrow.com/content/s12-39-How_Bluetook_Works.html or
    http://www.bluetomorrow.com/content/s12-39-How_Bluetook_Works/
better probably if you could even do
    http://www.bluetomorrow.com/How_Bluetook_Works.html or
    http://www.bluetomorrow.com/How_Bluetook_Works/
but these latter could be a lot more programming (or manual) work.

You could also rejimmy the title so instead of
"Comprehensive Guide to Everything Bluetooth Related - How It Works" for that page it could appear as
"How Bluetooth Works" or maybe better
    "Bluetooth - How It Works"

You can buy/rent a lot better, higher PR and relevant links than you can usually get from trading, but if you have the skills and you're on a budget (or even if you spend money to hire a programmer who has done this) I think if you reprogram your CMS to do the url/title changes will do a lot for you.

To help you get started, if you're on Apache/Linux check out .htaccess / modrewrite.
For Window/IIS you need http://www.helicontech.com/'s ISAPI rewrite.

Finally, I've never done it, but I understand Yahoo had a program where you could pay them for advice that would generate you a lot more traffic from them if that is still available.

so if wordtracker says the term was searched for 259 times and i show up #2 in yahoo...what exactly does that mean?

I just checked yahoo today and it looks like they have updated their serps and i'm #2 after being no where to be found.

Im not sure what SE's wordtracker is based on. Check the overture results - they will give you a better idea of the searches done on yahoo. Once you know that its pretty straight forward - your keyword is searched for x times a day in Yahoo, and for each of those searches your site is in #2 position so you should see a fair bit of traffic (high xx at a guess).

In terms of targetting keywords I personally would target several more specific keywords e.g. 'bluetooth services', 'bluetooth devices' etc. This way you are covering more keywords while still targetting the core keyword - 'bluetooth'. It makes it look link more natural linking too, as all your backlinks won't contain exactly the same phrase.

sometimes focus on the less searched but less competitive keywords. It allows you to get good rankings in less searched terms, however, going after a big keyword where you never get anywhere further than the 10th page does you no good.

i did some research for you and found that 'blue tooth' is in big demand but according to Google there is also big competition for it at 32 million hits just for US or 57 million otherwise ... this is huge competition

i would rather target less competitive keywords as derek suggested

i also had a look at your keywords tag and 'blue tooth technology' has almost 27 million hits at google (again huge competition) and am not sure that your first keyword 'what is bluetooth technology' is that good a keyword to target

also, 'bluetooth' is repeated 8 times in your keywords tag and spiders may consider this keyword stuffing

lastly, if i may, you need to properly represent your keywords through your main text, adding them to the keywords tag is not enough ... they need to also be found in some 12 locations of your web page
