I have some domains at godaddy. They have sent me an email that update your contact information and it should be accurate otherwise according to icann rules it may be the ground of domain cancellation.

Is this correct? that any wrong information in domain contact may be the ground of domain cancellation?

Whay do they care. I do hide my phone no etc and put some fake their. please suggest.

You shouldn't put in any fake information at all.

All information has to be valid.

If you don't want your information shown to others, purchase whois protection.

Yeah, and make sure you do update it and it is valid, or else say goodbye to your domains, and they do take those actions, so take it seriously.

If you really want, you can rent a P.O box and get a cellphone just for whois, although the cellphone may be a costly option, but not if you have a lot of domains, but a postal office box is definitely worth it if you don't want to reveal your address.

EDIT: I wouldn't wait on updating on whois, but after a while, if you didn't update, they will send another e-mail....

    blah blah blah
"Several months ago you received notice to update the contact information for your domain name(s). According to our records, you have not completed that update. It’s important that you do so immediately."
    blah blah blah

But don't wait, because I believe they have a full right to do it the first time.

There always some so called "company emails" that send into your mailbox every single day...

You have to be careful not to fall into this phishing trap or you'll be regret for what you've done.

I think GoDaddy sends such emails one per year to all of their customers but I don't know if this is the case with your email.
