Well Markus from plentyoffish makes20k/day lot's of people earn good but you should not based your living online on just thing especialy such as adsense wich is no near to constant ...
I think it is possible when your site getting famous and loaded with lots of content. I am starting up one. Keep my finger cross and hope to become main income. hehe
Well, I have a friend who earns 150-200$ per day from only one website and he now depends on AdSense for his living.
2 months ago I made $20 from adsense. Last month I made $25. It's slowly increasing but at this pace I will make more money in 1 day at my regular job to match how much I make in a year from adsense
I felt the same way before I took the plunge. For me, the trick was to have a safety net saved up to weather the occasional drops, etc. Luckily since I quit my day job my traffic and earnings have stayed strong. But you are very right, the industry can turn on you in a heartbeat and you can find yourself in a hole quickly if you don't prepare. My wife started a web dev business that we can fall back on if we need to, that combined with our emergency savings helps us sleep better. Plus, in todays market, how many jobs are really safe? My buddy had one of those corporate jobs and got laid off last week. No warning, and just one month severance. Heck, at least in this business you usually get 1-2 months "severance" since most ad partners payout on a net 30-45 day schedule. It has been almost a year now since I went fulltime as my own boss. No complaints so far!
I am starting to do it now . I have my google number and i write for worldpolis website and it looks good.
Yes, i do earn double that of my day job earnings and that part is only from adsense, i m yet to try affiliate and other earnings, but am not planning to quit the day job-u know how unpredictable adsense is This part of earnings is exactly from 4 websites and am working on few more, so expecting to touch something in the range of 2-3k , say in 2 years time, maybe will think of quitting day job then Of course right now, i have most of my jobs outsourced, except for jobs in which i am specialised, like SEO and analysing the competition and tweaking the content and its performance, the designing, coding and content management is all outsourced, of course i keep apart around 1/3rd of my earnings for that. I know i could have done it myself better and kept that earnings for myself, but day job gives me that job security which adsense cannot my 2 cents.........
