Free advertising methods are not dead. You just need to do a lot of it for it to be effective.

If your site offers useful information than you shouldn't have any problems getting people to your site and having them come back.

I have one site where I haven't done any maintanance for over a year and it still has a steady flow of visitors. And I only did free advertising on it.

Thousands of visitors a day? I never read that. Maybe you read it on another board?

At any rate, they are lying. You know how some people are on message boards.

And they also go on and on about how great search engines are, and the dumbasses aren't even listed. All they are doing is repeating what they heard from other dumbasses.

I am not discounting search engines, mind you, but I am not going to give them a fucking blue ribbon, either.

All these so-called great methods, it's just about clueless noobs that hear it from other clueless noobs. And those clueless noobs heard it from other....

    So on and so on....

So, then it makes it seem that these free methods work, when in reality they do not.

Then you have some who say that they do just fine with free methods.

Uh-uh. I'm sorry, but getting only a handful of visitors a day in my book is not "just fine."

Don't get discouraged, I and many other Webmasters started out small when advertising. Overtime we built up our advertising budget.

Others have done it, so can you.

Just do not believe the bullshit on boards like these.

Well said, this is one of the best posts I've read here in a while! ;) I recently started posting, but I visited this forum before and read what people were saying.
