I'm planning a trip over the Christmas holidays and wanted to know if any other Australian's have been previously? If you have, some tips to share, great places to visit etc? A while back I noticed someone selling their greatoceanroad website, but can't find the post now. Where in Australia are you coming from? I've been along the Great Ocean Road a lot, and to be honest, unless you've never seen the ocean before then don't bother. The 12 Apostles are incredibly boring, if it's misty you won't even see them, and I think at least 2 of them have collapsed anyway. Separation Creek is about the only place on the Great Ocean Road that hasn't been taken over by wankers in their BMW and Merc SUVs. Apollo Bay and Lorne have both completely lost any charm they once had.
Not too far from Sydney Seen the ocean many times... Might look into perhaps some pampering places, massage girly things, melbourne zoo and I hear the shopping is good ? factory outlets? Accomadation already booked so no backing out of it. Thanks for the feedback
Will take lots of pictures and let you know I love the beach, and hoping to just mellow out for a week !
