don't you just make a page advertising your site then send out a bunch of friend requests? or do you just post at everyone elses page and spam your URL? do either of these things actually work?
I have had limited success. I sell music via major online distributors from my site. You have to be able to get a solid amount of people view everyday and even then you can't just openly spam people. Target a demographic that is actually interested your services and then make sure to actually build relationships with people.
We used it and it produced about 200 visits per month but for my site it was not the traffic I was looking for.
I have just started to play around with it and have had limited success with it posting on the forums and making new friends. The best thing to do would be to get a friend bot and target your demographic. Then you could go to all those people and post comments on their site, but don't spam and mention your site and what you do. The goal is to get traffic to your profile and have some kind of link to a lead capture page. You should also post to your blog and send out bulletins to your friends list. You can also hang around the forums or groups and set up a signature link to get more traffic to your site. MySpace works but don't go in the spam direction becuase people will know right away if you are for real or not.
its so saturated now that it doesn't worth the time anymore. i started a site earlier last year even then i didn;t find it worth my time so never ended up fisnishing the site. unless you offer something unique which is in demand, you are wasting your time
I have had no success with myspace...I think there are just way too many distractions that prohibit anyone without money as long as train smoke to compete with the larger advertisers on there...back to the distractions...why would anyone care about what you are promoting when there are half a billion almost naked men and women on every other page? Just my thoughts... P.S. talk about irony...one of my signatures is for myspace..lol..strictly a fan thats all..lol
I jumped on the myspace wagon about 12 months ago and made a couple hundred a monthy but it was too late....the big money was made a couple + years ago. I know there are still people making money but for me, even with the most up to date bots, the hassle is in no way worth the payout. I just never really focused on it I guess and got involved in other methods that make way too much money to go back to jammin' on myspace.
MySpace doesn't work if you're just trying to spam people. If you use it as a way to connect with your audience, it's tremendous. I used to get over 1,000 uniques a day from MySpace until I made a mistake and got my profile deleted. I'm building it up again, though.
2 years ago you could make tons of money from myspace now it's a little bit harder. Myspace got better, they can catch spam much quicker and block accounts.
