Anyone familiar with sh404sef for Joomla? I need some help!

    First question:

    I published the sh404sef MODULE so that sh404sef will handle the homepage meta and site name as well as use h1 tags and such. However! It puts the section name into the page title like: "adsense tricks | general money making". I want the page title to just say "adsense tricks". Get what im saying? How can i make it like this again without unpublishing the module?

    Second question:

    I'm wanting to change all of my URLs so that the content pages will just have the content title in the url.

    Example of what it is now: www.sitename.com/general-money-making/adsense-tricks.html ...I want it to just say www.sitename.com/adsense-tricks.html
    The big question is what is the BEST way to change all of my URLs and redirect the old ones to these new ones without losing search engine rankings?

    I hope someone can help me soon.

    :)

    I can't help you with an answer, but have the same issue so I wanted to make a post...and get the email notification of a response.

    I am installing Joomla 1.5 as we speak...do you know if I will be able to use all of the 1.0 extensions with it, or do I have to wait for the upgrades?

    I have no idea. I've took a few glances at 1.5 but I don't even dare upgrading to it at this point. I almost have everything just like I want it and don't want to take the chance!

    Hopefully we'll get a reply soon.

    @touchAshley
    in sh404 configuration on plugins tab Show Section? and Show Category? set both to No

    @Monks
    I don't know if sh404SEF is running well in 1.5, better you see in the official support forum at h*tp://extensions.siliana.com , it has 1.5 subforum

    I just read that Joomla 1.5 has a mod_rewrite option that will build the site out entirely on search engine friendly URL's.

    Yes I know this option. But it will change all of my URLs and all my links coming in will mean nothing! I'm wanting to know what I can do to redirect all the old ones to the new ones without writing a long list of 301 redirects for each and every url in .htaccess

    Any ideas? Does sh404SEF have an option to help this? I posted in their supoprt forum. no answers though
