I just caught them on using a very outdated (or someone else's) 'contract'. It pays off reading the mumbojumbo every now and then.

So how did you get on with UK Banners/Splut? I've uploaded some money but NO clicks - bit disappointed because I've had a riproaring susccess with adwords etc.

I've used UK Banners on one site for a long time, although I don't think I've ever bothered to pay for extra exposures etc. Periodically they send me an email report indicating how many clicks my banner's generated, which is usually depressingly small. On the other hand, the banner is probably pretty poor.

I'd guess UK Bannes is probably best suited to sites with a pretty wide appeal, rather than a fairly small niche. Also, IIRC, last time I tried to add them to a new site (quite a while ago) the account was never activated despite a followup email - which was never answered.

At one time I used them as a very crude means of tracking which bits of the site were seeing the most traffic, but there are much better ways of doing that now that don't consume space on the page. Other than that, I've never found them to be particularly useful, and now that you've reminded me about them I'll probably pull them off the long-standing site when I get around to doing a rebuild.

    Rob.
