Anyone every create an affiliate program from scratch?

I'm looking to see if anyone has created an affiliate program. I'm working with a developer to create the code but I'd like to hook up with someone who's been through the process. Maybe see if they would like to join the effort?

It's actually a generic Affiliate piece of software, the parameters would be user definable so that anyone involved in running an affiliate program could plug in the details as it applies to their scenario. The application is being built so it can tap into the market of myspace and facebook. What our team is missing is affiliate experience.

 

Then it will take a lot of work.

You should have learnt about the industry before you made a site.

 

Perhaps I'm mistaken but I think he's saying he doesn't have any experience because he's in the process of getting experience (by making his site.)

Due to the catch22 of the situation, he needs someone with experience to make up for the lack of his own.

 

Actually, I think I've done enough research to find the information I need, I'm going to see if I can close this discussion, thanks for your help.
