I've used them for about 5 websites using their cheapest hosting package. No complaints so far. I generally ony use them for sites that are smaller and that I don't expect huge amounts of traffic.
And no access to log files at all, it appears ... But, don't let no AWStats hold you back - Analytics is open. Letting no access to log files hold you back ... that may be a good decision ... (but correct me if there are log files, DidierE, but I'm just not finding them)
I had to move a site away from them as they couldn't support their own ColdFusion plan. I had to place some server code (scripts from the CFIDE directory) in my web root to get my site to work. They may have been fine for HTML or PHP without any advanced needs.
Depends on what's on the landing page, but for their cheapie shared hosting (the $4 to $15/month range) can't handle a whole lot at one time in my experience. Not much experience with their Virtual Dedicated servers (yet), though. I tend to spread my hosting around to a few different places. -kpaul
I've been using GoDaddy for over a month and I have no complaints. I did a lot of shopping beforehand and they were the best deal for the money for what I was looking for. I guess it really depends on what features and how much BW and storage you're going to need.
I have a past client who moved from my hosting service to them due to the fact of pricing, however once he said he was thinking of moving they doubled his bandwidth and space, so he now has 100GB of diskspace, so I am told but if you think about it logically they are overselling big I mean come on does each hof there servers have a few terabytes of storage space on it, no i doubt it so they deffinately oversell just to keep there customers, I myself prefer to run a safe and tight organisation.
I hate to bad mouth anybody, but there are MUCH better, and cheaper, hosting companies. Plus GoDaddy just keeps finding ways to suck you in and make it hard to leave, and more expensive while you stay. I think they took a page from AOL. Enough venting of my frustration. Try 1and1.com I really like them and they are much cheaper with more features.
I have never used godaddy but i might give it a try. But i do preffer this one http://www.itstudiohosting.co.uk i never have any problem with it up to now and i have been on it for about 5 month . Its currently getting a new face lift.
I was going to try 1and1.com, But: I always search for reviews before purchasing something and I am always skeptical with things that seem to good to be true. Problem here is that they are too cheap. Take a look here regarding 1and1.com : www.bankraid.com . This is a sort of directory which gathers links from people that complain about 1and1's services. You must read it if you're going near 1and1.com. Take care, Adrian
Yah I think I am going to stick with Fusionx for a while though when I do switch I am going to godaddy and not 1ana1 because 1and1 is a ripoff for their hosting plans they only offer 2 mysql for 14/month
Good value for money, but traffic tracking is next to useless. No rawlogs either. Have to use Google Analytics but you can't track crawlers with GA. So, if you're not serious with rawlogs and web stats, GoDaddy does offer cheap-but-reliable web hosting service.
no thats points, thats for there free host, they make you get points by posting or if you cant get the points you can pay 2 bucks/month for a sorta skip my points credit. For their paid prices you have to go HERE,
i've been very happy with godaddy. i have 7 hosted sites there now. they are very stable, cheap and reliable. plus their tech staff calls you after purchasing hosting to make sure you are ok with setting everything up. the only complaints i have is accessing the email and their java ftp times out after 3 minutes.
I would recommend hostgator, I'm two months with them and had no problems at all. I like their cpanel.
I also use Go Daddy, and have been happy with them. My only complaint? That they won;t let you make a direct connection with your own database. They make you use phpmyadmin, which really sucks. Jordan
