sick of sending detailed PMs following the directions of a potential client and not at least getting a --- I hired someone or a PM in that order --- as a response?

    Frankly, I think it's rude.
I'm sure others feel the same.

I've actually had people disappear after corresponding back and forth about a job, settling everything, then never getting a go-ahead. One person even paid me an advance, I had one more e-mail from him, and he disappeared!

I'm also tired of the 'pm me for details' posts that don't even give a general category, then want someone with specific expertise or the general category is one that I would never want to write about, like SEO. I don't like wasting the time.

I think jhmattern has the right idea in setting up something where a minimal amount of information is required.

What about forming a writers union in DP?
I think lot of problems could be solved if we can do that

Hey guys.. i am back into writing..and for most part, i shud rather say, you are bidding to get a job.. so if you dont get one, why even bother waiting for reply..

i understand sometimes, lack of work can make you over-impaitent.. causing the frustration of DP members not replying..

forming a union sounds like, if someone has to hire a writer then union will distribute work amongst its own writers, not letting the DP member to pick and choose..

so we got to think more on this point, as newbies are going to get killed..

I totally agree. Think of it this way, it just shows their lack of professionalism, and you are better off without them anyway. GL!

Nope what I'm saying is,we are forming a union not to distribute the work.
Suppose a writer is ripped off then the union can involve in that matter to solve
Currently I found a trend in DP that the client get the articles and say that they were not good and reject them and later on when we do the copyscape it was found published in their sites
If there is a union many kind of problems like this can be solved.

    What do you say?

im2good, I like that idea. Currently I have a very full client base who are all keeping me very busy, and very happy, and they are good people. But in the past I have run into the problem you are talking about so I totally support that idea. I have no clue how we would do that though.
