Anyone else think twitter sucks now that they are trying to be like Facebook and Instagram?

Twitter used to be simple: 140 Character text tweets...... Now they are trying to be like facebook and instagram with photos that clog up our timelines.

Is anyone else frustrated with the new twitter?

IMHO, twitter was much better when it was simple. Twitter was created to be 140 Character text tweets. They should stop trying to be like facebook and instagram.

Maybe Someone should create a site like the old twitter?

Twitter is still good. Love it. I rather use it instead of facebook or instagram.

 

The market dictates its own rules... People needed photos - they've added them. I'm shure - soon we will see more novations and additional services.

 

I'm just not a fan of all the photos clogging my timeline.....If I wanted to see photos I would use instagram. I enjoyed READING the tweets from the people I follow.

 

How ware they clogging up your timeline?
You know you can disable the images from showing automatically right?

I don't see that Twitter has changed much in the last few years, and I use it every day. The only other option I've seen added it the ability to change your profile header, which wouldn't have any effect on reading users tweets.
I do like the option of being able to upload an image right to Twitter, vs using a site like twitpic as we did before.

 

Hmm.. I think I am a bit outdated. Did the tweet character limit increased already??
I like twitter before but not as much anymore. I just feel like it is too fast phased now unlike before haha

I'd much rather see only 140 character TEXT tweets.....I'm on twitter to read text tweets...not to look at a ton of pictures....It's much easier to scroll through tweets without looking a pictures.

When twitter was created it was only 140 character text tweets... Now they are trying to be like instagram and facebook with pictures. IMHO they should have kept it simple.

The mashable link for disabling images is only for mobile. They should also have an option on desktop too, but they don't.

nope, still 140 to tweet, 160 to dm.

 

Unfortunately they have the power and because some many people are addicted to them, even reliant on them, they can do as they please (to a degree).
