Anyone else think MSN Live is a joke?

All I can say is wow? Google is indexing new pages from my daily, as well as yahoo. Why does MSN seem like the slow retarded cousin of Yahoo and Google. MSN Live has only indexed my homepage now, and it has been up for 4 months now.

I understand that it could take up to 6-8 months before pages get indexed on search engines, but I have strong backlinks on high PR sites. Hell, when I put a new page on my site, it is indexed in google, within about 4 hours. What is MSN DOING!?

Is there something that I am missing? I submitted my site/sitemap as soon as I launched a long time ago.

Ok, so I am wondering if any of you have an clever white hat ideas to get listed quicker in msn live? Also, do any of you even use this search engine?

about a months ago msnbot started to very substantially increase crawling
    october
    41946 msnbot
    32434 Googlebot
    3234 Yahoo slurp

earlier msnbot only had a fraction of Gbot activity
as a result of this increased msnbot - i get for the first time ever some real traffic - several k uniques more per months - still tiny compared to G but really noticeably more than ever before. also now msnbot seems to have nearly all pages indexed within a month or so. before most of the pages either were missing or many month later indexed.

of course G still is by vey far Nr 1 - but to have or NOT to have some 9'000+ visitors / m MORE is better than nothing.

stronger competition makes all SE become better

Because Microsoft only knows how to compete when they are the monopoly (ie. crush the competition by giving everything away free). Now that Microsoft actually has to do some work to compete, they don't know what to do...

yahoo is a lot better then live search for me, last months i'm getting more and more from google currently 68.4% from google, 18.8% yahoo and 2.9% from live search.

I just submitted my sitemap to live search (by adding a link to robots.txt) hope to get better results since live only has 600 pages index :S (google 100k+, yahoo one day 30k the other 35k lol)

I have a similar issue with one of my sites that has been up for a while and still only the homepage is listed. I often find the SERPs in msn terrible. I would never use it to find something on the web.

I never use MSN search to find anything on the web. Their results suck and are not really relevant to my original search. One of my websites is doing extremely well in Google and Yahoo, but hardly ever get any traffic from MSN. Question is: do I really want to mess with my formula just to get more results from MSN? No thanks, I'll stick to Google.....

I like MSN as much as I like Google and Yahoo despite its slower indexing pattern or lower search volumes. It's a decent search engine which you also have to take into consideration when doing some business online.

I think yahoo is the worst out of all 3 for crawling/indexing there SERPS are really weird... And backlinks are retarded, MSN does crawl slow but is better then yahoo!

Agreed ... MSN does send me much more then google

Google hasnt ever done me any favors at all...

All they do is come to my site and grab my info then leave ...

If they didnt have 80% of the market id block thier bots in a heartbeat

    thx

Are you serious? Google gives me the most customers, msn gives me nothing , and yahoo like 1%, i guess i gotta start working on SERPS on other search engines? I just kinda went all out on googles serps :)

How does yahoo serps work? Backlinks like google? Or something different

My top 3 referrers are Google, Yahoo and MSN - in that order. While MSN sends me a few thousands per month Google and Yahoo send tens of thousands.

Google is, by far, my best SE traffic, but the other SEs are performing well for me too.

The traffic from MSN is very very low. They have not been able to even keep pace with Google or Yahoo.
