My ctr has been going up my earnings are lower or staying the same? Could be smart pricing, but smart pricing has been around for many years now. IMO google is taking a bigger cut from publishers now that the economy is down.
Yeah that's the problem with using Google Adsense is they take their cut and pay you pennies for advertising. That's why I also sell text link advertising on my website to webmasters so I can earn monthly income as well as PPC revenue.
I mean...google doesn't tell you how much they give you and how much they take from your earnings. For example, valueclicmedia gives you 65% of all cpm/cpc earnings. But for adsense, publishers don't know what type of cut they are getting from a $1 click. Plus it varies a lot as well with all the stuff they got going on
I hate to see such abysmal level of transparency from the leader in this online advt. industry.... At least, it has to share the % of revenue it keeps for itself...for publishers to decide if it truly is a wonderful program to be with... Regards, RightMan
It's not Google that are taking a bigger cut, it's the advertisers suffering from the economic crisis. Such advertisers as Woolworths and Zavvi all went bust recently which shows how bad the situation really is... and these were big brands as well.
Whether they are taking larger cut remains a question. Well, I'm an advocate of more transparency and hopefully they reveal this portion of information to us.
Yea, but the only problem with that is, google made 15 billion, 1 billion more than they did last year...so if advertisers are spending less, where is google making 1 billion more from? IMO bigger cut.
Do you mean to say that google retained a greater share from the advertisers' money and thus accumulating a higher profit?
For the longest time I've always thought this is how Google is able to maintain positive quarters each time around. Think about it, they have 3 months between earnings reports and an unlimited amount of times to alter the percentage payout so that their earnings fall in line.
I thinks its a combo of both. Less revenue coming into Google and they are paying less as well. We have to suck it up, just like everyone else and ride it out. Looking at other options, ways to maximize what we have. Like the person who said he also sells links on his page! Outstanding idea, and their are many more ways out there to get more bank for the buck. It will require us to work harder, and more better, work smarter! tony
That's what I"m saying man. IMO they need to release how much they are paying publishers like pratically every other company out there. Most companies they tell you straight up, 505, 60%, 90% etc but google, no answer.
