I've been grinding the 10c/25c tables on partypoker in my spare time the past few days. I've been doing pretty good so far, but it's such a rollercoaster. This isn't the first time I've played online poker though. I've played before, but this time around I'm putting the pieces of the puzzle together much more quickly. I guess it all comes down to experience - the more you've played, the better you'll play. Anyways, does anyone else play online poker?
I tried playing poker online but I sucked. But I'm pretty good on Blackjack, just don't want to get back to gambling.
Yeah, heaps lately! I'm always on the freerolls over at full tilt. Came 2nd the other day in a 630 player freeroll
Last year i used to live off poker. Im on a bad streak now so i only play live 5 times a week and a few hours online. Talking about my bad streak... I have just flopped a set of queens and lost to a guy with 33 on the river that briought him a FH. What a fish! $100 a pop
I got curious once. I put in $20, got it up to $100, withdrew $80 so that I was back down to what I started with (sort of a way to control myself), then started over. Wasn't as lucky the second time around though, lost the $20. But hey, an $80 profit! Of course, I had been spectating this one guy who was incredible at heads up. One on one, he was unbeatable. I watched him night after night, make thousands and thousands of dollars. After watching him for a couple weeks, that's when I got it in me to go ahead and try out $20. Fun times. But after hearing so many stories about people getting addicted and losing everything, I told myself I'd only try once.
I used to play alot! In fact my first year i made 30k off of about 20 tournments. Second year i lost money. With the new laws, i'm not playing anymore because its too hard to get money in and out. Plus all the rumors of software that will let you see the other cards.
Wow, that's brutal. My worst beat is probably the time I called all in on the flop with an ace high flush and having the other person back door into a straight flush. Luckily I play low stakes so I didn't lose that much. Anyways, bad beats are tough, but they don't bug me as much as they used to, and I'm starting to see what people mean when they say luck is only a short term factor. I might get hurt by a horrible beat, but I'm good enough to come back from it and finish in the green.
I don't know addiction. But online poker sure is fun. If you are playig against real humans, and have some intelligence and self-control, then your pretty sure to be above most of online players. And be able to win some money. But never challenge the high tables and professionals. Those people are pure whackos. Luck and good guess don't exist with them. Just pure success.
I used to play bodog until they lost thier site for some reason?? I withdrew my money and havent played online since. Now i just go to the card club near where I live. I might try another site but I dunno, to win anything online you have to play the 25/50 dollar tables. With the .10/.25 people dont seem to care, they call anything...but when $500 is on the line they think a lil more and fold a lot more.....
