Anyone else notice ECPM randomly jumps twice as much some days

I see the same ads on my site day in and day out, and yet some days my ecpm for the same amount of clicks doubles which is extremely strange. It's a lot of money when it doubles, and then the next day it will go back to normal. Who else has had this happen?

 

Happens to me sometimes. One day I have a CPM of $2 the next day I have a CPM of $5 and I get thousands of clicks.

 

Yes but ecpm is only a function of how much you earn by how many page impressions you've got that day.
Unfortunately my ecpm tends to decrease when my impressions increase, so my average earning per click decreases too because my CTR stays the same.

 

I usually measure my monthly cpm since it will go up and down daily.

 

Don't look at one day compared to another, look at a 7-day period compared to a 7-day period (or 14-day etc) Looking at your stats for just a day and trying to compare anything isn't good for much except elevated blood pressure
