Anyone else having this really weird Wordpress 3.1 problem?

When I upgrade to 3.1 (even on a brand new blog with no plugins activated) I cannot turn off the comments posts or pages. Settings/Discussion doesn't work and the option to manually turn it off or on posts/pages doesn't appear. It's affected some plugins as well (when I do use them).

Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks

Not when upgrading, but when I installed Wordpress 3.1 for first time I had the same problem. I couldn't solve the problem until I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it again. This time every thing was ok.

Hope my personal experience can help you.

No that didn't work, but thanks for the reply.

Sure would appreciate any feedback from those people who have upgraded to 3.1. If you could click on the "edit" posts/page button and scroll down to see if you have the option to enable or disable comments.

    Thanks

I haven't had that problem, knock on wood. But to gain access to the "per post" controls in the edit post screen, click on the Screen Options button in upper right. A panel will slide down and you can select that meta-box to appear. 3.1 did a clean up of the edit screen to exclude a number of meta-boxes from appearing (removed clutter).

No it's not the theme, it's Wordpress.

I already tried on a brand new blog with only the default items with the plugins not activated. Dodger got it.

    Thanks
