Anyone else got the email alert after withdrawal (Indian Paypal Users) ??

Looks like Paypal has been hacked. I've never seen such weird things happening before.

 

Yes contacted paypal but no revert except for their auto responder
Still waiting.. we r all in the same boat.. 5 high value transactions of mine got refunded.. Do we tell our clients to send payments as goods now and not services ? I still dont get it.. Whats wrong with the service option when fee is the same ?????? Why are they reversing genuine service transactions too ?

 

I feel some one hacked Paypal

Otherwise such mass level reversals in less than 10 hrs time

I also suspect this might be the case. In makes no sense for paypal to do such a stupid move - enforcing changes in policy on a retrospective basis.

 

MB...but at the moment its a distaaannnnnttttt second. At least for the foreseeable future it appears we are at the mercy of paypal

 

Many people are saying they lost the service transactions tooo which means either they are hacked or some of the employee of paypal playing the game with Pals

 

I agree mb is the best but they are very strict and some times u can transfer funds even if they are available.

I feel Google checkout is better

 

from what i see they dont pay tax on it and people from india are doing mass tax free payments.

 

This is not true. India has taxes on gifts. So it doesn't matter how a person receives money, he has to pay taxes on it in any case.

 

I am really very worried!! I transferred money to my account on 1st feb...i have not received them yet in my bank. there were no personal payments involved in though...

I hope i receive them..

 

I am sure there would be an official announcement on this issue in a day or 2.
(they did send the withdrawal delay notification however there is no information on resolution timeframe).
Hopefully by next week we can get a clear picture...

 

Very nicely put. And its not just the Indian market. I think I can safely say that my company brings substantial business to paypal through our international payments, gateways, e-commerce shops, and so on.

We are taking this has an advance warning of what could happen in the near future, so even if you are not directly affected by this as a "seller", you should still take this seriously, as a mirage of things to come.

This is definitely not the type of company I want to be in business with. I am sure that I will still be using paypal for my personal ebay purchases, but if I don't get a very clear and quick justification for all of this mess, not only will I forward this issue to our lawyer, but I will immediately start looking for alternatives for all of our payment gateways and international payments.

 

every one pays taxes on gifts you pay tax but paypal also pay tax on services and goods but for paypal gifts should be tax free.

 

One thing i want to bring into the picture

Where ever it might be INDIANS are the only people do the mass level business its there nature to cut the commissions and want to earn more because {No words here}


I agree they TOA says that Personal not allowed for business transactions but here there is mass level reversals which includes service transactions too, Apart from that we are not sure about our clients received the amount {Many replies states that they havent recd the funds}


Over all i feel either its a Game played by paypal to increase there income or its was hacked

 

I am very discouraged by this - What if I get more payments and more reversals ? If I withdraw, they just reverse and deduct fees for it too. Should I stop withdrawing ?
How should my clients pay now ? Using 'goods' option for service payments or what ?

Here is my observation:

1. Personal payments - reversed (as I see many people saying on the forum)
2. Service payments through invoices - reversed
3. Service payments through buy now and subscription buttons - no reversed (atleast in my case)
4. Service payments where client used 'send money' interface -- can people confirm this one?

There is clearly a problem with their system when you consider that their treatment to number 2 and 3 is different.

Wow i'm lucky not to do a transaction this month , so i don't have any problem till now with my account.

 

just called em, and they tell me after all the things that they have told you guys above, that the payment should be credited into our accounts on the 8th of feb. Has anyone else got this info?

For every other question I asked them, it was just "its because the paypal system was under review"
