With the exception of the last couple of days, I was generally impressed with the efficiency of Paypal but I never expected them to first pass on the currency conversion charge to the customers and having done that... they would oblige to refund the same!

But having refunded back the currency conversion charge, they have surely followed a good business practice! Way to go... Paypal!
    I surely loved your gesture:)

    Regards,

 PayPal has surprised me with its refunds of our currency fluctuations. And I am starting to love them for this fair gesture on their part. I just hope they solve the issue with the banks and start the withdrawal service as soon as possible. As far as I know Paypal was the most hassle free option for me to withdraw money to my bank without a hitch.
    You rock PayPal!

Looks like RBI screwed up the whole system and not PayPal. Poor PayPal had no choice but to comply to stubborn RBI's directions. Our Indian Govt Sucks big time.

My 'lost' $22 credited to my account now. Something to cheer up this morning.
Regarding check payment.... what if SBI still refuses to accept the check? So, I think, its better to wait for 2-3 days so that the 'smooooooth' transaction operates normally.

Not good news. All of 'budding' freelancers including me have to think again about using PP, due to our govt. policies. Hardest thing is that which payment option will be suitable for us? The same problem may be occur to 'alternate' payment systems also. Feeling helpless :(

    http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/3a62d6d8-1671-11df-bf44-00144feab49a.html

Hey dumb Indian financial regularities, if freelancing is a crime, then ban us and issue an arrest warrant against all of us.. or apply heavy taxes on online payment so that your relatives can travel on luxury business class or can spend their holidays in Pattaya on our hard earned money, but do something for us.

Its becoming very tough to do business n India! We pay 30% IT 10.3% service tax 4% Vat and still they are not satisfied. Ours is a money hungry govt. Why do they not have the guts to get back the black money of the ministers enriching the Swiss. The either dont have the guts or they are purposefully not taking a step as probably the tp officials have share in it. We common people are suffering for tiny amounts! How ironical.

These idiotic govt regulators don't mind a minister pocketing Rs 4000 crores through Bribes and corruption. But they do mind, us getting a few thousand rupees through our hard work.
Just see even smaller countries like Taiwan and Thailand are popular with AlertPay and all other providers and have no problems. But India is not .. Why? Because of our stupid regulators...Our corrupt Govt and their so called "politicians" working for the people...
