are you sure they mention technical problem?

what i think, is due to some glitch in their system, they would have routed all transactions without IFSC code or incorrect codes or something, in which case could be untraceable.

does anybody recall, of any changes made by RBI or banks on IFSC codes issued to banks recently? Who knows anything could be the reason!!

Whats more intriguing to me is they say...we can't withdraw to the credit card as well.

RBI is also involved, which makes sense that they cancel all personal transactions.

    Hello,

Same case with us. Withdrawal done on 3 & 4 feb today return back. Cutting the fees.

What's happening here. Money is what we all need. Who will take care of our INdian Community. Really un-professional way. Paypal even not send email to us.

Its ok they take make money, but same time they should answerable to all of us. If we can withdraw money they must stick a note on there main web page.

To save customers & us from un-wanted trouble I have disabled paypal from our e-commerce website. Till this problem further resolve.

My online good customers are ringing phone. What should I answer to them ?

I ask paypal ru people sleeping. If you need to take business from our INDIA then why should u not follow Indian RBI Norms.

Also paypal payment gateway does not support "Verified by Visa" & "Mastercard Secure Code". SO misuse of Indian credit cards still in process.

Paypal must change there system so that charge-back for non-tangible items including services will be get protected.

Paypal is Knife either it will fell on u, or You fell on it. Cut would be done to You.

I request RBI please take care of all Indians hard earned money. Or Shall it will be biggest slow down for all those who are taking money from "PRAY-PAL"

This is really the best these people can do. This was a problem with them... and still made us pay for their problems. If it was US, they wouldn't have dreamt of such a thing let alone make it happen. I lost over 700 bloody rupees because of PP. Bloody because they were hard earnt! What was 251 US-Sh*t became 232 US-Sh*t............ Bloody racists.

yes .. off the top of my head:
    -xoom
    - transfer it to some site like Freelancer.com or Odesk where you have multiple options...
    - buy stuff
    - transfer as goods payments to US friends who can wire it back (length proc...)
All these may incur some charge but even PP did not insure us against losses inspite of the customer loyalty and its reputation, so small price to pay ... right?

Today, I got the money back in my PayPal account and they charged some 13 dollars. :(
    Here :
29-Jan-2010 Currency Conversion Completed Details -$160.00 USD
29-Jan-2010 Currency Conversion Completed Details Rs.7,140.11 INR
09-Feb-2010 Cancelled Transfer Completed Details Rs.7,140.11 INR
09-Feb-2010 Currency Conversion Completed Details -Rs.7,140.11 INR

I thought their issue was solved now, but my friend told me that today some amount from her account was reversed to her client. I don't understand if the issue is solved or what?:eek:

Very disappointing it is. I will switch over to some other service soon. Can't just rely on PayPal

here is the article content -

SAN FRANCISCO: Online payments' service Paypal has halted personal payments to India following new government regulations that were designed to

    crack down on money laundering.

Paypal Monday did not cite a specific reason for the suspension apart from concerns raised by PayPal's "business partners and stakeholders". The company noted that commercial payments to merchants in India would continue as normal.

The move is expected to have a serious impact on the thousands of Indian freelancers who are paid via Paypal for web design, writing and software development, PC World reported.

The move is reportedly related to the Indian government's crackdown in November 2009 on international banking transactions, when it instituted new reporting and verification requirements on all banks and financial institutions to prevent international money laundering.
