2 days ago I was #8 for the term "Free Online Games" for my site www.GameFrat.com Now i'm #10 and i'm afraid I will go to the 2nd page soon. =(
My SERP's are always on the move...so I try to evaluate which are more important to me. If the word you are trying to rank for brings in a good amount of traffic...I would continue building links for that term.
depends for the keywords...for one of my keywords I went from the 800's, to #6, now I'm on the 3rd page I think. All in a matter of days. For some keywords I guess the updates are very frequent, and your competitors are probably very active so nothing to do but keep working at it. For me that means gotta keep getting those articles out there.
changes are constant.....the web changes every millisecond and I'm sure the serps changes just as much
My rankings also is not constant sometimes my site are gone from top 100 and sometimes I see it in the first page. I thinks it is because of different datacenter of search engine.
my site is changing on google as well....im on #4 then the next day it's #6, then #8 and goes back to #4 again. i agree with janna, results vary depending on the data centers.
Welcome to 'everflux'. With Google doing data refershes almost daily now, u'd best get used to it. In the end you should always have an ongoing SEO campaign. Its not a 'fire and forget' it kinda game. If you are standing still, others will likely come along and pass you....
I'm seeing a lot of volatility. My site AdultDVDMarketPlace.com has always ranked Top 3 for both Adult DVD and Adult DVDs. Today, the serp for Adult DVD has shown as 6,7,10 and not at all. I went to that Data Center checker at http://www.promotionworld.com/tools/dance/index1.php and its all over the place depending which one you ask. However, I thought it was interesting to see one of our partner sites steady at # 4 on EVERY SINGLE ONE! Thats weird when everything is shaking up, and one site doesn't move at all. On the other hand, I started going after "Charlotte Real Estate" which is pretty competitive, late December. Last week my main site went from not listed, to #14, and a page I created on another site is showing #16. I have never been able to get something to show up on Google that fast. Yahoo hasn't even acknowledged these sites, which is another first. I've always found it easy to manipulate Yahoo and MSN, and getting results from Google more difficult.
Well, I worked my way up to page 1 - and just realised today that I am on page 6! Maybe that will change tomorrow....
