I decided I cant decide between XP and Vista, I just set it up so I am now dual booting between XP and Vista! Anyone else going this route?
I am also using VISTA on my laptop since last 11 months and XP on my desktop since last 3 years. I am comfortable with both as of now. DON.
My laptop got Vista and my PC got XP, and I really don't see much difference, except now Vista looks more like Mac.
I am getting my new PC tommorrow. I will be installing Vista 64-bit on it. As part of my studies I use Virtual machines a lot, so will have entire networks running in the virtual environment on Vista. My Vista 32-bit notebook for eg ran virtual environments of Windows 2008, Windows 2003 R2, Windows XP and Exchange 2007 with no issues. To be honest, instead of dual booting, I would just create a virtual XP and use that on Vista. If you keep the Virtual image files on an external USB drive, you can also use them wherever you go.
I thought about getting vista but it'll have to wait till my new computer comes. Can't be bothered by formatting my hard drive.
Vista came preloaded on my pc and it works just fine. The only trouble I had was finding driver codes for my printer but was able to sort it out.
Although the studies and experiments tell that X is much better than vista as XP is much faster than vista but still vista has an awesome look and advanced features too!!!
If you have a new pc then I suggest you just go with Vista. XP is still ok but it's only good for a couple of more years before people all switch to 64-bit.
If I am not mistaken, loading time for vista is longer... although the appearance is much nicer than XP.
easy..i've been using xp since service pack 2 came out around 2002..long time windows user..never much been an apple fan..until i saw the macbook pro and the new OSXleopard..so this year i intend on ditching my crappy laptop for a macbook pro.. vista can be crashed with 2 keystrokes evidently ...
Hi, I've had Vista for 6 months or so and have experienced no problems at all, unlike XP which used to exhibit instability & crashes on occasion. Vista takes a couple of days to get used to & there are a few incompatibilities for really old software, but I say just go for it, spend a few days getting used to it & you won't look back. Cheers
