The night was dark, the sky was blue, down the alley a shitwagon flew. A bump was hit, a scream was heard, a man was killed by a flying turd. What do I win?
I write poetry, essays, screenplays, short stories and have been working on a novel for years. I also do academic writing, resume writing, and cover letter writing. Pretty much anything written for fun and/or for pay. Stephanie
@Perry - I don't normally go for poetry but that is simply beauty in words. lol. @Masterful - what does that entail then? @Stephanie - have you ever managed to get published or are you still trying?
Occasionally I write for print magazines. I used to be the non-branded sports editor for Hooters Magazine.
I actually do lots of writing for comics. Wrote and drew some. I'm moving onto more screenwriting as my comics always get optioned for movies. Monday I'll be moving onto major video game production designing characters and writing. I'll still have time to do copywriting for clients though.
I love writing and did stories, plays, lyrics and poetry so I started writing as a freelancer now I never find time to write apart from for work, ho hum.
Screenplays, short stories, and poetry. Wow, this simple thread reminded me that copywriting was supposed to be the day job!
Blogs, Press Releases, White Papers, Brochures and I'm going to start outlining a book for the print education market about At-Risk students and effective teaching practices. I'll be building a brand around it over the next few years, etc.
Besides writing content full time for a web development company, I do some side work researching emerging markets (putting my political econ degree to use) and just got a project to help ghostwrite a book on entrepreneurship. right now I run a personal blog which I update sort-of-infrequently, but someday I'm hoping to turn that into a book a la Tucker Max. Except with lower risk of STD's. But hey--I can really write whatever. Literally. Whether its about the hot competition for rights to the Shah Deniz gas field (currently Nabucco v. South Stream v. BTC) or Coco Chanel's business model or how ridiculous airport security lines have become. If I know something about the topic, great. If not...thats why we have Wikipedia.
