I have an affiliate site. The visitor can buy stuff from it.
I noticed that some of my competitors display Adsense ads even on their selling pages.
Have any tried it? Was it successful?

In some casese, for instance if you are running any kind of "free stuff" website, having competitors ads and affiliate programs are the only way to make money off of advertisements.

If a product or service is converting well, either don't run AdSense (it will hurt sales) or just place it at the bottom of the page (click of last resort - if they haven't bought, might as well get AdSense revenue).
On the other hand, if a product or service doesn't convert well, consider designing the page in reverse, featuring AdSense and pushing the merchant into a last resort position.
