I've been putting together a new website that has over 28 million business listings over the entire US. People can find directions on the website, review a business and list their own business for free. We will also allow real estate listings, full classified section, etc..... all free. The site is like Yellow Pages, Craigs List, City Search and a few other top sites combined. With over 28 million business listings and 40,000 different category listings where do you even start in order to get each thing listed correct? Anyone out there do SEO services and have any free time?
I hope you have a huge marketing budget...To compete you are going to need to get your brand know because you are going against established players.... People don't find Yellow Pages and Craigslist by searching google, its usually by word of mouth...
actually people still do find info from yellow pages and google. I'm one of them but the infomation people are looking for now is not the telephone number but the email addresses. If you site provide email sure you will get lots of visitors.
