I'm interested in alternative energy, use it in my vehicle and for most of my electricity, and I think it would be great to switch to a host which offers this. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble choosing from the options I have found. I'd like to hear from webmasters who have used any of these services as well as representatives who may be on DP. Here's my list, in order of current preference: Planetmind.net: Moving this to the top of my list, as they seem to actually power the DC with Solar. A little pricey but...worth it? Thinkhost-Great package, and I've been in touch with their team. The main thing holding me back is the lack of transfer support. I've also seen poor reviews which match my impression of weak service. HostPapa- Again, looks great...but I noticed downtime reports on their site from last month, so I'm a little leery. A2-just found this and their plan looks a little light on bandwidth but otherwise competes well Dreamhost-have heard horrible things about them, and they have a pricing scheme which seems dishonest (the posted price is for 10 years in advance!) DrakNet-A little pricey (especially registration). Web Hosting Buzz-I don't know, the site and name just turn me off. If you can add to this list, please do. However, I'm going to measure the value against the first two plans, which offer the best packages for about $8/month. I am especially interested in experiences with customer service and uptime.
