anybody used www.one.com as a host.
they look really good, but i searched for reviews and have found some bad reviews although it looked like one person had written a few bad reviews in different places.

i decided to chat with them via live support and again they seem like a good option but one thing they said was that i could have my account closed if i was a problem to other users on their server.

so i thought may be if anybody here has used them and how have they been. any problems with transfer, server speed?

    Hey,

One.com is a good good host, and they really do honor their unlimited bandwidth offer :) And they have been in business longer then some people can dream of!

THO, read their TOS very carefully.. They for an example don't support or allow any kind of music, movie hosting, even tho it's self made! They have file limits (meaning you cannot upload any files bigger then a certain amount) and alot of other restrictions unlimited hosts usually got!

Your best option would be to go online and talk with their staff and tell them exactly what your going to use their hosting for, so you are 100% sure that they will not suspend you for some idiotic reason ;)

    Thanks,
    Freddy

Choose a smaller host don't go with an over-seller. Read their TOS they have many restrictions.

I have had hosting in the past and i woulnd recommend it.
Nothing is allowed to host..if they dont like what you host they would put it down the service is alright though but yeah the hosting is crap.
If your a serious webmaster then you should look at other companies this is for people that want to make there first website.

okay an update on this thread topic.
    has anybody used one.com?
    yes! i have.

after some deliberating i decided to go with one.com.

i my final deciscion was influenced by two factors the price and the free domain name.

i chose the £0 a month option which had a £9 set up fee.
for this i got a free domain name, 1000mb space and unlimited transfer.

i figured that if they where a crap host at least i could easily move hosts and i could take my domain name with me. some registrars charge as much for a domain as this cost me for a full years hosting with the domain.

so far i have not had any problems with this host. the control panel is not the easiest to use but it is clean and simple and evertything needed can be found easy enough. there is always live support on hand to help if needed.

before i took a hosting package with one.com i did some research trying to find out other people opinions and i read lots of bad reviews. however the things that others complained about i have not encountered. in fact so far i have had nothing to complain about at all.

Best of luck, But thumbs down for one.com
Just come to their live chat and ask about their server specification like processor, hard disk , ram etc
See what they are telling "we dont give out these information due to security reasons" Ha ha

Search here at DP with their name and you can see some funny posts here.

Oh well! You are going for a tour but you don't know where your guide will take you to.

It's something like this. And their newest technology is a P3 server with 512 RAM. But they wont say what it is ;)

    How serious it is!

How do you know that If they wont say?

Do you really believe a company spending 10000's on advert and promotion would be running p3 with 512 ram?

They said in live chat with Vivek.. please refer to the link above.

Yes I believe, because after spending 10000 on adv, they cant have money to provide you a cheap service(FREE EVEN) with the high end costly servers.

People here provide cheap just because they dont have any adv costs or affiliates involved, otherwise the price will go several times high :)

    Regards
