Anybody use the wordpress plugin simple press for adding a forum to their website?

I used it to add a forum to my website poker commercials. You can see the forum at poker commercials forum.

I still have a bit of work to do on the website as its new but the forum is working great. It was really easy to set up. I am still wondering if I should take the sidebar off or not. I mean I want people to signup to my newsletter but at the same time I want the forum to be wider for easy reading.

Anyway, if you used simplepress please post how it worked out for you.

*shrug* Worked fine for us on our WPMu installs. Had to make a few coding changes, all listed in their support forums, but nothing major.

They seem to like it. We used to use (ah, hell. I forget the name. The one that got hacked and the author's solution was to disappear.) but they like simple press a lot better. It's pretty much a full solution. Some of our wpmu sites market their installs that way as a full CMS. It's not at the same level as something like phpbb but it's pretty close.

edit: wp-forums was the one we used to use.

theapparatus, thanks for the info. simplepress just seems to get better and better with every update from what I hear. sooner or later people will choice simplepress over vBulletin.

eauncarter, thanks for your input. I think I will keep the sidebar on the forum page. Glad I can help you find what you looking for.

I hope you ready for the work. A forum is not easy to build a community but once it does get rolling. Oh boy!
