I wonder how fast can you fill up your computer with viruses if you're browsing on a Win 98 computer without an AV?
i remmebewr when i used microsoft windows xp! it was so fast! I might install it on a VPC! anyone got a download link? I ran it on 200mhz with 64mb of ram! ran like a fan!
If I had an old computer I would be using it. With a new computer, it doesn't have the same allure on a virtual machine
My workplace has a computer with Windows 98 (128MB RAM with it). Very nice thing indeed. Even Firefox works with it! I do like Microsoft 98 but I think most computers with W98 would be really low on RAM, and most of the programs I have for my work require at least 128MB RAM on their own. I still like the gray design too! The oldest computer I have to date is Microsoft Windows XP with 256MB RAM. Works perfectly still today .
I loved microsoft windows 98. I am using windows xp. I had no plan to change win 98 OS but new installation need win 2000 or later so I removed it.
Its a very nice BASIC OS!!! Yes you cant do alot of heavier type stuff on it,but if your just using it for surfing and other type Small to Medium things,Win98se is your best friend
I still have Windows 98 on my old PC for my younger kid brother to play around and learn...But for business, gaming and work...no way....
i'm using XP and have practicaly no problems, but i rememmber windos 98 on my old computer it was terrible with drivers when you reinstall it
Hello! I think that the Windows 98 operating system is so user friendly that it made it possible for a moron like me to be able to start using a PC. I took a course on computers in 2000 – the lab had computers on Netscape or Windows and I always got there early so I could get a computer running Windows. 3 cheers for Windows 98
I think the most initiative windows version is 3.1 . It was a huge jump from basic old dos. Even if it was stolen . Anyways I wouldn't call windows 98 the best os ever made it was full or loopholes and buggy as can be. Not to mention the security (if you can call it that) on it was just horrible. Sure they fixed a few things in the 98se but some things like memory management and multitasking couldn't be fixed without recoding a whole new os. They tried to fix it and released windows ME which as we know was the worst os to ever be put on the shelfs from Mircosoft. If I had to pick the best os in terms of speed, performance and reliability I would say windows 2000 takes that cake. If I had to go with the best overall OS it would have to be xp. Once they fix all the bugs and kinks out of vista I will then change my answer to Vista.
