    Hi,
I reinstalled my PC 3 months ago because it was really slow and now it starts getting slow again. I already tried Registry Mechanic, but no effect.
Does anybody know real good software to clean XP?
    Thanks,jos

Virus does not only reason behind the slow speed of PC. It has many reason for example your computer is not upgraded or your operating system files may be deleted.
Have you removed this problem via software?

I suggest use Dashbund Hare. Not something that companies boast about but its a great utility. For viruses uses ESET Smart Security. You don't need a 3rd thing... Seriously.

I'd suggest you backup your files and just do a clean install. No software can beat re-installing your OS :)

Ccleaner is a great utility, if you are sure that you are virus and spyware free you may want to look into upgrading your RAM, a lot of the time your computer runs really fast until you start installing a lot of apps and such and then it slows down over time, let me know how much RAM you have. I would recommend a minimum of 512MB for XP to run sufficiently, if =yo have less I would recommend upgrading to at least 512MB or 1GB

You may also want to run 'msconfig' on your machine to see if you have too many programs running at startup. This can eat up your RAM and cause your machine to be slow. A good tutorial on this can be found here: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_xp.html

Ccleaner runs about every 30 minutes here. And SWB text files keep things from installing and uses 0 ram.

Also do not forget about using the Tune Up Utilities software ranges. They are very powerful indeed and have tens of different features.
