I've had a Technorati account for four years. I just went to the Technorati.com website and discovered that the old Technorati (blog directory/search engine/authority ranking) is "missing in action." It has apparently been replaced by Technorati Media, which appears to be a conduit for advertising on websites. There is an announcement that, "You won’t find our blog claim process or authority index on this new website, as that technology is being redesigned and optimized to help publishers get discovered by advertisers and earn more for their highly-valued content." The blog directory and account sign-up are gone. All the old pages are gone--all the old accounts are gone. Anyone have any insight on what is happening. Is the old Technorati that was helpful to blog owners dead?
