Anybody know the real story about Rapidshare being down?

    I have been reading loads of conflicting stories online about Rapidshare Dot Com potentially being shut down by the German courts. Some say the reports were false but there is a recent posting made here just yesterday:

    that seems to lead me to believe it is true.

    Anybody have the real scoop?

    As an aside - I brigng this up because although their site is up, I have not been able to utilize their service for a couple days. Anyone else have similar problems?

    I don't think it's true. It would've been all over the news.

    I agree, it would be all over the news because it would be one of the biggest warez closures.

    I think they were just down doing maintenance or something.

    I understood that their datacenter had outbound port problems, and DNS resolution failed completely, their servers were up and playing, but their central router started playing up, thats what I saw, I forget where.
