I've played wow for four years. A lot of people play. What do you plan on building a website for? What's the purpose going to be?

I have stayed away from WOW but only because I know I will spend too much time on it. I have a couple of friends who became addicts and spent way too much time on it. Massive audience out there!

Blizzard has 11+ Million players only in their official servers (paid) + 2-3 million in the private servers (free). Yes, it's a very popular game.
But if you want my opinion don't start a website about it, here is few of them:
    wowwiki.com
    wowhead.com
    thottbot.com

And even if you start a website with this you won't be able to manage it unless you don't play the game. And believe me it's a MASSIVE game.

    Good luck.

Thousands? Last I heard there were 11 million subscribers. That probably doesn't equal 11 million players though....but still 5mil+ at least active players.

If you do start a website on WoW, you'll need to do some hardcore outsourcing. I play WoW regularly, and when I come across somebody who doesn't know what they're talking about they stick out like a sore thumb, trust me.

I also enjoyed Guild Wars and it was FREE! I know how much time GW sucked from my life force so I never ventured into the WOW game because I figured it would take up all of my time and I would become a HOBO.

I did play it for some...oh, 2-3 years. I was a guild leader of a T5 guild, and raid lead for an open raiding organization that was up through T6. Lot of fun, as much as it owns your life. I don't play anymore, still have a T5 equipped rogue at like...lvl 78 sitting around.

If your going to make a site about wow i would say look for something that there is not all ready out there or make it better then the nest site the same is massive and tbh you would need to play it to be able to make a site there is 13 million players that should tell you how good it is
