a few of my keywords have been totally dropped from yahoo, msn, google, altavista, alltheweb.

its weird, because its different words for each search engine, hopefully its just a fluke like i had yesterday

BTW ranking tools can and do hurt your websites because they DO NOT CLICK and search engines count clicks and therefore if a website ranks on top and is not being clicked on will get devalued and will rank lower compared to one that is clicked and will get higher position ....

Be smart and forget about ranking checking .. check your landing pages for keywords (on-site analysis) rather than SES

    Proof is here:

The new Google Patent and the new quality guidelines -- that's from the actual patent text that Google filed ..

This time Google looks at our traffic:

[0082] According to an implementation consistent with the principles of the invention, information relating to traffic associated with a document over time may be used to generate (or alter) a score associated with the document. For example, search engine 125 may monitor the time-varying characteristics of traffic to, or other “use” of, a document by one or more users. A large reduction in traffic may indicate that a document may be stale (e.g., no longer be updated or may be superseded by another document).

    VERY IMPORTANT :: USER BEHAVIOUR:

[0086] .. user behavior relating to a document over time may be used to generate (or alter) a score associated with the document. For example, search engine 125 may monitor the number of times that a document is selected from a set of search results and/or the amount of time one or more users spend accessing the document. .. If a document is returned for a certain query and over time, or within a given time window, users spend either more or less time on average on the document given the same or similar query, then this may be used as an indication that the document is fresh or stale, respectively. For example, assume that the query “Riverview swimming schedule” returns a document with the title “Riverview Swimming Schedule.” Assume further that users used to spend 30 seconds accessing it, but now every user that selects the document only spends a few seconds accessing it. Search engine 125 may use this information to determine that the document is stale (i.e., contains an outdated swimming schedule) and score the document accordingly.

Also you can right click on the google search results and see one JavaScript value on each link with "ONCLICK" that records the actual click to their database ...

    Yep.. its true ..

Is that good evidence or what???

yeah it says that, but i still dont (want to) believe it.

if other peoples links cant hurt you, why would they let this hurt you? someone can easily run a checker hundreds of times a day and completely ruin peoples rankings.

In researching SEO ranking software, I'm finding that some claim that they don't hurt your listing status...

It seems that this type of software, run from your own PC - somehow queries the SEs, and they can see/feel these robotic inquiries. Not sure why some software companies note this fact...but it seems scary.

The last thing I want is for Google to ban my IP or something because I (or my software) is hitting their site.

If that is the case, then fire up your SE Rank Checker and hit your competition's website and there ranking should go down since your not "clicking" on there link?

Your IP will get banned over few minutes/hours ... its up to you .. this is the same issue as AdSense ClickBombing won't do you any good ... they are able to detect it so quickly...

Nah multi proxy will get around that but I just don't see how google or other's can devalue your ranking because of an automated rank checker. If that was the case then that is a whole new business that would be started, instead click fraud, you would have rank checker fraud. "Can instantly hit your competition's website on a daily basis for $xxx.xx to lower there ranking."

I had one of my websites drop out of a few competitive search keywords about 3 hours ago. I also noticed that the search results for those keywords went from 35 million to 64 million in the same time period. Looks like someone spammed google with a bunch of subdomains yet again...

My keywords still in the top fifty of Google but some of the keywords is not that lucky to be on top of Google.I think because of a continuous update of Google.
