    Hi,

For people who sell software's on the net, is advertising on shareware sites worth it, or a waste of money?.

    Thanks

I think advertising on most download sites is worthless. I have advertised on some download sites and it wasn't worth it. It is worth submitting to all of them (just make a pad file and submit it to the asp-shareware repository). Also, your software must be placed on download.com, tucows.com and if applicable snapfiles.com
I am currently experimenting with download.com pay-per-download program (started beginning of January, but my software is 15 day trial). So far I pay less per download than AdWords. Considering my AdWords campaigns are profitable, I can only guess that ppd on download.com will be worth it (my soft costs $49.95).
It will depend on your type of soft and price. But submission to all sites is mandatory (pad + paid submission on tucows and download.com).

Thanks nohaber.... that is exactly what I thought, I almost went for it but thought it may not worth the money, thanks for confirming what I thought.

I would be most interested in knowing how well your PPD goes, I want to try it but not sure if it would work.

isnt the miminum PPD is .15?.

Yes, the minimum is .15. If you drive AdWords traffic let's say .05 per click, not all visitors actually download your trial. The .15 is per download.
