Anybody has experience in marketing a self-published book?

The best way to promote a book is to primarily find the most adequate audience and target them. You should try to aim for those who are reading authors that are similar in some way to you, by style, a genre they are writing about, country, and so on. Once you define the audience, you have to search and see on which platforms they are active and direct your marketing efforts towards them. On those platforms, you can make paid ads, write posts, engage with others, share pieces from your book, and so on.

 

I have never faced the experience of promoting self-published book and basically I have never participated in promotions of someone's book and I consider this activity as super tough one....
Nevertheless, everything might be done! You should try to promote it via classical twitter or fb as you have noted in the post, but how much viewers and readers can such an approach attract? Not so many as you want. You can launch the ad campaign via other websites and promote your book in various e-libraries, but it's a real mission to find the ways how to buy the place for ad banner on e-libraries website. You can try it out.
