Anybody else noticing considerable dip in CJ sales in the last few weeks?

Discussion in 'Commission Junction' started by hanji, Jul 4, 2009.

Anybody else noticing considerable dip in CJ sales in the last few weeks? Since mid June, my CJ commissions have been horrible? This is odd, since EPN and AdSense seem to be still hitting their average (EPN is above average).

Just wanted to see if I was the only one.

    Thanks!

I do not know for CJ in June because I did not make enough promotion with their products, I had an unusual low sale rate for June for a software I made sold on RegNow. June was not good for the sale for me, may be for others.

Cj in june as made one review of all sales, then, after the reviewed, and make sales debits, the problem begins.
    It is the same problem?

June was my best month ever and I've had some seriously good months. Maybe the products you are promoting are not good for the beginning of Summer or something along those lines?

Ours are up and down so much, it's hard to tell.

    Seemed in the ballpark though.

If anything June started looking up a peek - like those green shoots in the eceonmy. The big fall for me was in July/August 2008 with cafepress. the other vendors I deal with were also off - but nowhere near what happened at CP. But I guess in a recession overpriced frivolous products get hit hardest.

Seems to happen every year with CJ for me. June and July are just plain bad. Maybe people are away from the computer more but it always seems to bounce back Aug 1st

There could be varying reasons for the dip in your sales and unless we could get all the data its hard to pinpoint the culprit. But I agree that consumer spending had gone to summer related products and less on other categories - which is why it is always wise to align your affiliate promotions according to seasonal trends. If you are already doing this, then one thing you can do immediately is to check your links and see if they are working properly.

The problem is the clicks is on CJ, but no sales.
And the strange is i`m talking about one big advertiser with sales, but no sales on my account, only clicks, this is very unusual for this advertiser, i have a few years in cj and i never see that with this company.

Anyones knows something about link hacking or something else like this?

check on the consistency of your traffics (clicks/imprs).. if it drops drastically, then investigate why that happens..
if you see normal flow, then email their support.

That's something different. if you're able to, visit your local library or borrow some computer time from a neighbor, visit and poke around your site, and click on the adverts. Do they work? Do they lead to 404s? Is there any problem with trying to get to the advertiser's site?

I see this quite often with adsense if I click on a link. There's a broken link or it drops me into a 404 page. Wondering if the same thing is happening to you.

I suggest using a different computer on a different network so you don't get accused of false clicks.

I also noticed a drop. I got an increase in clicks (over 250 clicks per day) but my sales are dramatically low.

I was mostly concerned that I had tracking or reporting problems. I started getting a few sales again, so it could be just economy and my niche. I should work on other merchants with CJ (I pretty much focus CJ with one niche area) and I think that entire niche was hit.

    "Please contact the affiliate"

"Do you have any documentation or sales proofs?"
Do you know, the cj is not responsable if one of the advertiser programs don`t pay u?
