Anybody dealt with Cloudninepbs?

We have been called several times from a internet marketing company called cloudninepbs. Basically they sell sort of a super ppc deal.

They claim they have their "system" uploaded on 16 million pcs in US and Canada. They are selling a deal whereby for about $1,000/year, your actual web site sits on the top of a screen for a search for search phrases that are inputted into the system.

It actually looks pretty impressive, though it is a total distortion of search. Also the sales effort is high pressure. must be a boiler room there.

Just wondering if anyone has run into them.

sounds like searchrocket or boulder marketing, etc, etc, etc,..... I think they market under 10000 names.

They use a spyware type of program which highjacks search results oon major search engines - I hope that google will sue that kind of garbage.

They use a high pressure sales pitch...and go right to the payback issue...which makes them sound good.

When they first called and spoke with my colleague, as he was hesitating and reacting negatively to the sales pitch...they went right to the threat of "we are going to sell this to your competitor"

Hard sell high pressure sales. I'm curious how they do their technology? I did look up the web site on google and the first response came from another forum where the person entered something like this (I requote) about them...

    #@!#%^$%#@$% bas**rds

    Think I'll pass.

    The technology they use....

    WHO REALLY USES IT? Frames???

What a scam! They called me a month or two back, I asked the guy a few questions and then he got mad and hung up on me. I guess he didn't know the answers or he knew I was a waste of time.

The best advice I could give you is stay far, far, far away from that crap!

Did you see all the hidden text at the bottom of their website? What great SEO's. LOL

hmm I have to disagree with you It may not be the best advertising on the net but I got it and our hits incresed about 40% and our sales have jumped . But on the other hand I picked another keyword as they call it and it did bad maybe its a non popular word. When I get some more money ill pick some more words hopefully il increase my sales by 70%

I take it you dont know about the keyword suggestion tool? You may want to think about that before picking keywords out of the air.

    Just a thought...

All searches are scewered becuase any top 10 site already uses dirty tricks to get there. Pay per clicks show on a word basis so they aren't relevant to the search either. With smartly chose terms this business and any other business that can achieve exposure is a good idea.

Occassionally I get the same problem on one of my sites. Lately become.com has been an issue as well as some referral spammers.
