Anybody bought scripts from siteclonez.com?

Hi everybody...I am trying to purchase Facebook Clone 2009 but I am very skeptic about the sellers. Has anyone bought from siteclonez.com?? They claim to be the original developers but their website looks shady. Anyone knows where I can get the script from?

I recently started working with SiteClonez "Swoopo" auction script. They were very responsive prior to the sale and replied ONE TIME (asking for more information) when I needed post-sales support.

Since then I have resolved several issues (telling them what needed to be fixed) and written an update to their nearly non-existent installation instructions. Still, I have not heard a peep out of them.

In their defense, I can say that all of the code seems to be present and I believe it will work once I can resolve the installation issues.

The product I have is built on the CakePHP framework which I didn't know prior to purchase but I am please about.

They also seem to use the minified version of jquery.js (I've not actually gone through the code to try to verify that) but there's no copyright statement and the code has been obfuscated (I think). In that regard, their claim of providing "all code" is not completely true.

I think they are in the business of making most of their money by providing support.

    I hope this helps!

So many of these "script houses" are just selling nulled versions that I'm almost afraid to buy anything anymore - unless it's a custom coded script, or something really unique - be sure to check sites like AmaderForum and ScriptMafia first :)

I can find a copy of each and every one of these scripts that they sell @ BOTH of those sites as Nulled or Clones(also usually nulled) at warez forums all day long.

Shady looking, yes I agree LOL, but SiteClonez.com may be legit, I can't say for sure.

FYI: I just now checked with ScriptMafia and they do have a copy of the software I am working with, although it is an older version.

I had bought several scripts (Swoopo Platinum and the Ebay) and never had any trouble with them. They have top notch support and stable scripts.

I think because they sell the scripts with source code you see others profiting from they're scripts or giving them away on warez forums.

Siteclonez is a good buy. :D I save thousands of hours and cash in development time. I recommend them.

There was a bug in their Swoopo clone product with the following behavior...

The first user would register and set up his billing and shipping addresses. He could edit them later without trouble.

The second (and subsequent) user would register and set up his billing and shipping address BUT when he tried to edit them later he would get the details of the FIRST user!

Not only would the second user see the details of the first user but he would be able to change them. Once the change was saved the first user COULD NOT change them back!

The fix turned out to involve a half-dozen lines of code because the critical variable (which holds the address information) was NOT INITIALIZED AT ALL.

When the program tried to use it later and discovered it had no value, instead of complaining, the program grabbed the wrong value and used it!

There is absolutely no way at all that the Swoopo clone program was tested properly. This is a fundamental bug up front and center, not off in some obscure corner. You can't install the program and not find it.

I contacted SiteClonez numerous times via various channels and never received any suggestions on how to fix the problem. This is despite the fact I
    • pointed out a competitor was selling their code illegally
    • provided a solution to another issue involving Unicode on some Linux platforms (an issue which prevents the user from creating an account)
    • sent in updated documenation detailing what I had learned on my own (their documentation is almost non-existent)
At the end of the day, the code now seems to be working but don't think you are going to get anything from SiteClonez except the code and a bill. You had better know quite a bit about Linux, PHP programming, and CakePHP if you expect to fix it and get it working.

Be careful when there are no demos. Buying nulled scripts are not worthit. Your website will just be shut down in a matter of time.

These are all facts based on my experience with them and I'll never deal with them again:
    1. They install software with bugs.
    2. Every software they have is incomplete and installed the same way.
    3. Before you transfer money they (mike) are the best people around.
    4. Once they have the money you cant get hold of them.
    5. There is no after sale support that they promise in the begining.
    6. They wont do anything/changes to the script once you paid.

    My recommendations:
    1. Stay Away from these Guys - dont waste your money
    2. Let as many people know that they are crooks
    3. Its all stolen software from various sources that is only half functional - so dont buy from them because you'll get into trouble later.

    Thanks
    True Evaluation.

Here is another number for SiteClonez: 250-702-1689
Just like their 800 number they only answer this phone when you talk about paying them - all other time on one answeres the phone.

Word of the WISE: Stay away from this company. They get your money and you get nothing.

I had to spend some cash to bought a working version of it but it was worth it :D
