Any1 else run a proxy slowed by peeps from iran?

    I recently took a look and Google analytics and was suprised to see that about 70% of my proxies traffic was from iran.

    Now I have nothing against that but they sure do use up resources compared to UK/USA traffic.

    I used .htaccess to block most of it from today, I would have started to go over my GPU limits (mt) if I had let them continue.

    Thought?

    block china for bots
    but if you can keep up BW, dont block iran

    make sure to redirect iran users to proxy homepage without adsense to prevent smart price

    I think they are using your proxy site because of filtering.

    I had a proxy site using "PHProxy" and had the same problem. :(

    If only it was as valuable as US traffic. :( Very good idea to block them. Unless maybe you can afford the bandwidth and stuff. I still think I'd block them though.

    Well i don't think its suprising coz most of my proxy traffic also comes from Middle east.

    That might have something to do with it but even if they clicked the ads. They aren't from the US/UK so it wouldn't be worth anything I don't think.

    No they dont earn money. Whats wors is BW isen't the problem, they seem to enjoy breaking the script down till it cries.

    I run on (mt) and I found that they seemed to run some rally large sites on it. Driving the CPU usage way way up. Something you woulden't generally expect from such big servers.

    I have yet to see much traffic from China, and now my traffics really slowing down...
