Any WordPress Experts In The House?

I've just set up a new site and I'm having the weirdest thing happen with the RSS feeds, and because of it I can't sign up at FeedBurner.

I have permalinks set up so the raw feed is at this address:

    http://www.thesandiegobeat.com/feed/

If you copy and paste that into a browswer it will look just like it should...RSS style xml.

But if you refresh the browser, then you get a blank page.

If I take the .htaccess file away, then you'll get a 404 error when you refresh the browser.

This is all from a Fantasico installation of 2.0.5 and the same behavior is present with the default theme or my custom one.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jon

upgrade to install 2.0.7, there are some buggy things with 2.0.6 (even though you're running 2.0.5)

its totally blank for me. I think the original XML file is stored in your computers cache thats why u see it sometimes. See if its turned on in the options in the admincp

thanks fsmedia, since I've got in installed through Fantastico I'll have to wait for my hosting company to upgrade, I'd like to keep it in sync, because if I update it manually then I'll never be able to use Fantastico again.

blade - interesting that it is blank, it's definitely turned on in Dashboard.
The first time I saw it, it was by bookmarking the live feed in Firefox. Probably you're right about it being cached since then.

I highly recommend doing a manual installation, fantastico is a horrible program and should never be used if you're serious about it.

Interesting, I've used Fantastico quite a bit and never had any problems...is there anything specific that is really bad about it? - I should mention that I only ever used it for WordPress.

I do a lot of hacking of applications, so for me, it's horrible. Maybe it's great for you if you don't do anything outside of the reg..

manual is always better though because it's always up to date, fantastico takes a while to update their versions

I agree, no program like that is going to work once you get beyond the basics.

Wonder if you would try something for me... I was just able to subscribe to my feed, from the home page of the site above by using Firefox live bookmarks...and it works when I read the posts by clicking on the bookmark.

does that give any clues about what is going on?
