I think finding one direct revenue stream would be difficult unless you are very proficient in that field. So you're doing freelance writing perhaps supplement that with affiliate marketing , can you design or code what other skills do you posess? Go land a job somewhere. Summer time probably you can find lots of part-time or full-time jobs. Momma always said... you need money.. get a job. Affiliate marketing can be a way to make the money for your computer fast, but it is really depending on your knowledge and on trial & error, so I wouldn't risk if I were you (to lose money if you aren't successfull). Just keep up the freelance writing and if you really want to make money, push yourself really hard and start doing some hardwork.
do a google for sponsors, sometimes you have to pay to register with sites though.. its worth it... you'd be surprised how many people will sponsor you.
