    Hi,

I am an expert in a specific field and provide a service to my select clients. I have got a new client in USA and she will be paying me money as and when she takes my service.

I am wondering how can she send me money? She doesnt want to deal with Paypal.

Is there a way to send direct money to my account in singapore. Any other alternative? Please help.

As already said I am in singapore.

    thanks in advance.

She could send you money via western union. it's quick, safe and hassle free. I've used it a lots of times without any problem.

    www.westernunion.com

Bank wire could be another alternative but it takes few days to reach. WU is the best option.

Yeah WU is a good option if it needs to come quick, it can be done via the internet since the client is in the states.

The only issue with that is the xgn5 compatibility issues with the new ie7 encryption system.

Bank to bank transfer is the most cost effective method.

Western Union and Money Gram are both good options if you do not mind paying for it.

I would be leary of accepting WU over the net unless you really know this person well. I know several people who have been scammed with stolen credit cards in this manner.

If you mean bank wire (by bank transfer) then I would say that doesn't make much difference. Wires have enough fees though little less than WU but WU is quick. And if you mean direct bank transfer then I doubt there would be banks in Singapore that accept international transfers.

Why would a bank in Singapore not accept a transfer from abroad? It's just a city-state, so I would imagine most transfers are international.

I travel there for a few days a month recreationally. My banking there has been limited to the ATM, but on the surface their banking system seems to be very modern, especially if you are in the financial district. I'll be back on the 9th for about a week. I'll call one at random and see what the policy is.

It was just a thought and not necessarily true :) If he can accept bank transfers that would be the easiest way. But WU is not a bad alternative. I personally would prefer WU in such a case.

Well, I am from Singapore and Wire Transfer (or Telegraphic Transfer) as it is known here can work. Bank draft, Money Order, Checks or at least most financial instrument would work, it just depends on the time it takes to process it.

Account to Account transfer from a foreign country does not work here.

I prefer WU as well, and even tell people to deduct the transfer fees from the price as a further incentive.

yeah let me first talk to the client about her prefereed method of payment. she isnt too comfortable with complex things..lol..

I might suggest WU or wire transfer to her. Thanks everyone.

Singapore is one of the modern countries in the world and what we have in singapore is perhaps the best out there...but sometimes the local bank have strange rules..i hate them:p otherwise its really the best place to live on earth!
