I tried doing the pay per download stuff and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. They keep lowering their rates and what not. Another photographer says he generates income from his nature photos that he places free on his site with ad revenue, I think PPC. What do you guys think would be the best route to take? I offer nature related photography/photomanips to download and use as desktop background and prints. I would like to be paid per download, but if I am generating a decent income somehow with my work, it'll do!
You really have to ask yourself how could a 3rd party benefit from downloading your images? There are billions of images indexed online. And people have free access to them - copyright violations and all. Some things are just not easily monetized. So look at your "problem" from a different angle. What monetary worth can you provide to a 3rd party with the images you currently have?
